Ocean Edition Line

Unveiling X-Pac®’s new edition of the world’s most popular laminated pack fabric. Our VX21 Ocean Edition sustainable fabrics feature a 100% post-consumer recycled regen™ Ocean nylon face fabric, made from discarded fishing nets.

Our why

Our journey began on the open sea, driven by a team of passionate sailors and textile visionaries who recognized the need for a stronger, more resilient sail—one capable of enduring the unforgiving elements of the ocean. Today, X-Pac® carries that spirit of innovation forward, crafting advanced laminate technology designed to excel under the most challenging environmental and physical demands.

Since day one, we have had a deep-rooted love of the ocean and outdoors. We believe spending time on the water and in the outdoors is the cornerstone of a happy and healthy life. This belief and love has pushed us to explore ways we at X-Pac® can help preserve our environment for future generations and have set a goal for ourselves to have as little negative impact as possible on the environment and the climate.

Our approach

Fishing nets that have been lost, abandoned or discarded end up in the ocean each year and are one of the most harmful forms of plastic pollution. Through our partnership with Hyosung TNC we have been able to incorporate 100% recycled regenTM Ocean and recycled nylon fiber. The manufacture of regenTM Ocean reduces CO2 emissions by 73%, fossil fuel resource use by 76%, and water consumption by 98% compared to conventional nylon.

The Fabric

The face fabric of new X-Pac® VX21 OE four-layer laminate is constructed with GRS-certified, recycled nylon fiber and 100% recycled regen™ Ocean made from discarded fishing nets strengthened by Dimension-Polyant’s patented X-PLY® fiber reinforcement technology made with 100% post-consumer recycled PET. A lightweight taffeta backing, also made with 100% recycled post-consumer PET, provides enhanced stitch holding.
